Since there are McDonald’s restaurant all over the world operates at night, McDonald’s becomes one of the commonly selected meeting place among the criminals. In line with this matter, Andy Lane – McDonald’s region security manager created the urgency for the need to invest on CCTV in each of the company owned restaurants by convincing the top management that the use of digital video recorders could effectively protect their staff and customers from becoming a victim of crime (Dallmeier, 2009). By making the people know that McDonald’s is using CCTV that is directed straight to nearby police stations, there is a higher possibility that people who would visit the restaurant would behave appropriately at all times. McDonald’s top management has been successful in creating urgency for the need to put up CCTV in some of the company-owned restaurants. Not only did Mr. Lane identify business opportunities and consequences out of using CCTV cameras, he also managed to provide the people with valid security reasons for the said investment.
